Why have flashID?
Uses for flashID

There are many applications to which the flashID system has been put by owners of all ages. Here are some examples

Stuart (35), a keen motorcyclist, likes to be prepared for any emergency. His flashID holds his partner contact, medical details, and his Medibank number

George (10) has an allergy to nuts and nut products. Having experienced one anaphylactic reaction, he now carries a flashID with details of his condition, along with next of kin and family doctor.

Greg (42) is HIV positive. His flashID shows his key medical data and current treatment.

Patricia (19) is now in her gap year and planning a world trip. Her flashID holds travel insurance details, copy of her key passport pages, inoculation details and emergency contacts.

Audrey (58) is epileptic. Her flashID includes details of her medications and her family doctor.

Martin (23) is an Englishman on a working holiday. He is cycling across Australia and carries a flashID with personal and medical information, as well as details of emergency contacts, both in Australia and back home.

Archie (84)
– an active octogenarian living alone has a flashID given to him by his children in case he has an accident at home or when he is out and about.

Rod (40) Vic conducts escorted outback expeditions. He carries a flashID containing his medical records - and recommends that his clients do likewise

Duncan (55) describes himself as a "young grey nomad". He is an avid tramper (hiker) and traveller. His flashID contains a copy of the title page of his passport, along with details of emergency contacts in Australia and the UK in addition to New Zealand.

John & Betty were on holidays when Betty became ill and was was taken by ambulance to the Emergency department of Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. The attending nurse had not seen a flashID before, but commented after using it that if everybody had a flashID, "[our] work would be much easier and we could get on and treat the patient much quicker".
